LEAPS & BOUNDS
4/13/04. 10:13am CDT. Home.

The shoot is set for 1pm. Well, originally it is, but two separate calls come through to make adjustments, and the shoot winds up being pushed back to 2:30.

As I'm turning onto the street, I see the vehicle the photographer described to me, turning in behind me. Sure enough, that's him, and we manage to show up at precisely the same time. He asks why here, and I point out that I work here, and that I had a cool place in mind up on the roof.

Of course, it's raining a little, so I figure the roof is out, but he's cool with it, so we head up. There's an 8-foot fence around the stairway to the roof, and on the outside of the gate there's a combination lock. I open the lock, leave the gate open, we head up.

The shoot goes well, we find a couple interesting angles, and in about 15 minutes we're heading back down.

At which point we discover that someone noticed the gate was open, and locked it.

At which point I really wish I'd brought my cel phone with me.
